Jackie Goodall

Recipient of the LHF Lifetime Achievement Award, presented at the LHF Annual Conference in 2024, Jackie Goodall has played a truly remarkable role as a heritage volunteer in Lincolnshire.

In the early 2000s, Jackie volunteered at the Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum.  She quickly became chair of the board of trustees, having on the way been key to the museum gaining accredited status. She was also key to the award of Heritage Lottery funding for the museum.  Jackie oversaw the rejuvenation of the museum’s buildings, collections and activity programme.

In addition, Jackie inspired and led a team of local volunteers to organise village events, among which were a pageant; a market day; and two Arnhem commemoration days, that included a marching band, parade of veterans, music in the park and a fly-past of the Battle of Britain Lancaster and Spitfire.

Woodhall Show 2019

For the past few years, Jackie has been responsible for the displays in the Heritage arena at both the Heckington and Woodhall Spa shows. As if all this were not enough, Jackie has in recent years been appointed a trustee of the Sir Joseph Banks Society and is an active member of the management committee of its museum. She has responsibility for volunteers, leading a research team and exhibition development, developing merchandise opportunities and – once again – assisting the museum in its journey towards accreditation.

At county level, Jackie has served as volunteer coordinator for Heritage Lincolnshire. And she has long  been involved in our Lincolnshire Heritage Forum. She has previously acted as chair and the ‘travelling annual conferences’ were her idea – putting all the delegates on a coach for a magical mystery tour of Lincolnshire, with all the speeches being given in transit, between stops.  We are delighted that she has recently agreed to become our membership secretary. Surely there is no better-connected person to help us grow in strength.

Jackie has justly received recognition for her dedication, sheer hard work and leadership skills, for example through the Marsh Award. So it is with great pleasure that we, too, acknowledge her extraordinary commitment and her capacity to inspire others.  Thank you, Jackie!
