Diary details: Saturday 22 November for a 10.00 start with refreshments at the mill; talks and tours until lunch at 13.15. Visitors are welcome to stay to enjoy the site on their own in the afternoon.
Cost: £5.00 for members (individual as well as those employed by, or volunteering at, a member organisation); £8.00 for non-members. Cost includes refreshments.
Visit details: Our November event takes the form of an in-person tour of the five-storey, five-sailed windmill at Burgh le Marsh. This historic, Grade 1 listed mill is owned by the County Council. It suffered extensive storm damage in 2020, and we’ll be able to see how the repairs have progressed. The Mill tour is up to the second floor and there is plenty to see without climbing. The local heritage centre is housed in the adjacent granary buildings.
Malcolm Ringsell and his volunteer team have kindly agreed to host us, show us round and feed us. If you have any special dietary requirements then please let us know. This is a great chance to see this heritage site as well as to build our LHF network – please come along!
If possible please book in advance via this email address, I will collect the money from you on the day but Malcolm needs to know how many of us are coming for catering purposes therefore bookings will close on November 19th.
Best wishes
