Education in Museums sharing event, 21st July

The Group for Education in Museums (GEM) East Midlands group have arranged a sharing day on Thursday 21st July.

Working with Communities and Artists

Where: Framework Knitters Museum, Ruddington

When: Thursday 21st July, 13.30 – 16.00

Cost: £5.00 for GEM members, £10.00 for non-members, free for museum / heritage volunteers

GEM East Midlands will be holding a sharing session looking at heritage projects that work with both artists and local communities at the Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington. Both GEM members and non-members are welcome to attend. The afternoon will include a chance to look around the museum and hear from colleagues who have worked on community heritage projects with artists.

Speakers include Rebekah Wood from the Malt Cross Heritage Project and Paul Baker and Adam Nightingale from the Framework Knitters Museum. The event is combined with the GEM East Midlands AGM.

Another sharing day is planned for 27th September when GEM will be joined by HLF East Midlands, MDEM and Sandford Cascade (the latter will be launching their Sandford Award for Informal Learning – SAIL – award).
