Welcoming Visitors Heritage Skills Course
Date(s): 4 consecutive Mondays beginning on 18th January, 11am-4pm
Venue: Priory Church of St. Katherine, Colegrave Street, Lincoln, LN5 8DW
People visit places of worship for a variety of reasons. They may be local, or come from afar. They may be on a family history or war memorial quest, or come clutching an architectural guidebook or a church tourism leaflet. They may be on an organised walking, cycling or driving trail. They may simply be curious!
Join us at The Priory for a fantastic course led by Heritage Learning which will cover everything from creating a leaflet to go in your church to preparing for and marketing events, working with local schools and community groups, and generally welcoming visitors.
18th Jan Tourism and visitor welcome: identifying and engaging visitors, and how to make them feel welcome
25th Jan Interpretation: understanding interpretation, and how to create good interpretation (signs, leaflets, information panels) that will engage visitors
1st Feb Marketing and Events: who to market to, promotional materials, and tips for successful event organisation
8th Feb Working with your community: building and maintaining positive relationships with your local community, including schools and other community groups
