The Lincolnshire Heritage Forum is a network of people working within the County to look after historic objects, buildings, landscapes, industry, crafts and traditions. The Forum represents a range of organisations who work tirelessly to conserve the County’s rich heritage and to ensure that it is presented to the public in an engaging and innovative way. The people involved, who are often doing this on a voluntary basis, gain support from the Forum through access to training, fundraising, sharing resources and peer to peer mentoring. We also seek to raise the profile of heritage within the County and its potential to offer educational, social and economic benefits to residents and visitors to Lincolnshire.

Liz Bates, who is Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Lincolnshire said “I am delighted to have been elected to the position of Chair of the Forum and I intend to do all I can to support our members throughout the coming year. We hope to broaden our membership still further, to do more to celebrate the successes and achievements of our individual members and to continue to provide opportunities to meet and share expertise”

The Forum committee was previously chaired by Jackie Goodhall (past Chair of the Cottage Museum, Woodhall Spa), who ably led the organisation for 3 years.

Liz added, “Jackie did a fantastic job during her time as Chair of the Forum. She was committed to providing the membership with value for money and was a very effective advocate for their contribution to the sector. During her tenure we saw the successful delivery of several of the objectives within the Forum’s business plan, and attendance at events and meetings increased significantly. She is a tough act to follow and I look forward to her guidance and support over the coming months.”

In her retirement address to the Forum AGM, Jackie paid  tribute to members of the   forum  “the forum represents so many of Lincolnshire’s heritage sites as well as a growing number of freelance heritage workers.  It is the largest collective voice for Lincolnshire’s heritage and the opportunity to be chair of the forum for the last three years has been very rewarding.  The skills and knowledge of members is impressive and the organisation is in strong and capable hands as it continues to develop into the future”
