Thomas Garrett Heritage Rooms Heighington, LN4 is a former Grammar school where teaching took place in the church [a chapel of ease] under the terms of Thomas Garrett’s endowment of 1620 and now continues its educational objectives as an art and craft centre.
The number and range of activities offered here have grown well in the past three years and a recently formed Art Club has decided to showcase it’s work by holding its first exhibition on April 11th and 12th, from 10am till 4pm.
There will be a church service on Sunday morning but at other times it will be possible to view the Rolls of Honour for the village. The clock in the church tower is the village’s war memorial and it has recently been refurbished and upgraded. The centre of the village has quite a large Conservation area and there are nice paths , good food and real ale to be had there. I do hope a good number of people turn out to have a look.
