Rag rugging at the Cottage Museum

If you are looking for creative activities to enjoy at half term then why not come along to our family event at the Cottage Museum in Woodhall Spa on Tuesday 17th February and try your hand at the creative craft of rag rugging?

Rag rugging developed in the past as a way of recycling old bits of cloth into a very useful household item to put on the floor and help keep the house warm. A variety of colours, patterns and pictures were sometimes woven into the rugs and some beautiful examples were produced. This traditional craft is very popular nowadays using both old and new fabrics. You are invited to come to the Cottage Museum at half term and find out how to do it.

The workshop will run from 10.00am to 12.00pm at the Cottage Museum, Iddesleigh Rd, Woodhall Spa LN10 6SH on Tuesday 17th February.

Admission is £3.00 per person including materials, and both children and adults are very welcome to participate. Children MUST be accompanied.

It is advisable to book in advance by emailing the Activity Manager  cottagemuseum@virginmedia.com or by calling the Chairman on 01526 353455

We look forward to welcoming you!
