Archaeology Detectives!

Half term Family Event

An exciting range of activities inspired by archaeology is the theme for a fun-packed half term event for all the family at the Jubilee Hall Kirton-in-Lindsey on Wednesday 18th February.

Investigate a selection of real and replica artefacts, and see if you know what they were used for, apply your knowledge and skills and decipher which materials will survive and which will decay. Enjoy a selection of craft activities which will include painting your very own mini Roman style fresco, creating a medieval face from clay and making your very own Thor’s hammer pendant.

The event will take place in the Diamond Jubilee Hall, Market Square, North Lincs DN21 4LZ on Wednesday 18th February from 10.00am – 12.30pm. Admission to the event is FREE but there will be a charge of £1.00 for each activity to cover the cost of materials. There is no need to book, just drop in. All ages are very welcome but children MUST be accompanied. Light refreshments will be on sale. Free parking is available nearby in the Market Square and streets nearby. We look forward to meeting you.

This event is part of the Past and Present project organised by the Society for Lincolnshire History and Archaeology supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Organised in conjunction with the Kirton-in-Lindsey Society and Jubilee Town Hall,
