New Year, New Knowledge.  Discover something new this year with Down Your Wold

JANUARY BLUES bringing you down? Fear not! Community heritage project, Down Your Wold, has some exciting events planned to keep you busy over the next few months and help you discover the wonders which are on your doorstep.

These free indoor events, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Heritage Lincolnshire and the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service, have been coordinated to help you begin your research and understand what resources are available to you.

Starting with The Past Online: digital resources for researching local archaeology on February 6 from 10am to 2pm at the Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre. A free day workshop in partnership with Heritage Lincolnshire to help you get to grips with online research. Booking is required through Heritage Lincolnshire on 01529 461 499.

Down Your Wold has also linked with the Lincolnshire Archives to provide two free events to show you how to get to grips with using the Lincolnshire Archives and take part in a tour behind the scenes.

A session on Church History Research will take place on February 9 at 10am to 12noon. This session at the Lincolnshire Archives to help identify different types of church records, while providing you with the resources and guides to find more about your local churches.

The second session on Discovering your Local History will take place on March 9 at 10am to 12noon. Where you can join the team at the Lincolnshire Archives to discover the wealth of books and materials on offer to get you started on or to widen your village history research.
