The Society (SLHA) is a county wide organisation that seeks to study, record and encourage enjoyment in the rich cultural heritage of the historic county of Lincolnshire from the Humber to the Wash. The office and well-stocked bookshop is based in Jews’ Court, on Steep Hill in Lincoln. The foundations of the Society date back to 1844 and the organisation continues to run a lively and engaging programme of talks, conferences, visits, publishing and activities that take place around the county.
The Society was awarded a Sharing Heritage Award from the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop the project. The award is from the Sharing Heritage Programme, designed to help people across the UK explore, conserve and share all aspects of the history and character of their local area.
If you are interested in the history and heritage of Lincolnshire and enjoy activities and events, then do come along and visit the Museum and see the exhibition. Grantham Museum and the SLHA look forward to welcoming you!
