Everyone is very welcome to attend an illustrated presentation about the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial Project at Lincoln University on Tuesday 8th April at 7.30pm. Displays about the Memorial Project will be on show from from 7.00pm.
The event is jointly organised by both the Society for Lincolnshire History and Archaeology and the University of Lincoln, on behalf of the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial Project.
In addition to the Memorial, this exciting new project will include an Interpretation Centre to be known as the Chadwick Centre, in which the collective story of Bomber Command will be displayed. This will include a tribute to those crew members who were lucky enough to survive, the ground crews whose essential work kept the aircraft flying, the aircraft and engine manufacturers and an understanding of the effect of the campaign on the civilian population both in Germany and at home.
If you would like to get involved with the project there are opportunities for volunteers to help with the research involved with the Chadwick Centre.
The presentation will be held on Tuesday 8th April at 7.30pm in Room MT007, EMMTEC Building, University of Lincoln. Admission is FREE and there is no need to book.
