Beginner’s training in Archaeological Augering

On Friday 28th March Ice Age Journeys at Farndon are offering a beginner’s training in Archaeological Augering to run alongside a regular augering day. The style will be informal and informative. Guidance will be on site for anyone to learn standard techniques including use of auger, recording of samples and interpretation of soils and topography. This is aimed at anyone who has not had the opportunity of getting on our important archaeological site and will be followed with test pit training at a future date.

The times are 9.30 – 12.30 and 1.30 – 4pm although morning trainers are welcome to stay on for the full day practicing their newly learnt skills.
