Introducing: Anita Hollinshead

From July 1st 2011 until March 31st 2012, I’m the Museum Development Officer for Derbyshire & Lincolnshire as part of the East Midlands Museum Development Team. I’ve been Museum Development Officer for Derbyshire since 2007 and have previously worked in Lincolnshire as Principal Keeper at Gainsborough Old Hall before moving to Norfolk to take up the post of Area Museums Officer for North Norfolk. In this role I managed an HLF funded capital development project at Cromer Museum whilst providing advice and support to the district’s independent museums. My first museum post was as Curator of the Highland Museum of Childhood in Strathpeffer in Scotland. My current priorities are to work with the Lincolnshire Heritage Forum; to support key museum projects such as funding bids; to help museums that are participating in the 4 museum development programmes: fundraising, board succession planning, volunteer development and improving collections management; to deliver training related to these programmes and to advocate for museums and museum development to the Arts Council.
I’m really looking forward to working with museums and heritage sites across Lincolnshire during this 9 month period.
